With Silver Bells and Cockle Shells....

Thursday, I loaded up both boys and headed to the pediatrician for their checkups. Very very convenient combining the appointments!

Zach is doing great. He had his blood pressure taken for the first time with a real cuff and thought that was very impressive. He pointed out that he too had a cuff at home and took mommy and daddy's pressure all the time.

He is 41.25" tall and weighs 39lbs. (He lost 1.5 lbs last week with the tummy virus! poor guy!) So, he falls around 75 percentile in height and 50th in weight. or was it reverse that? I forget. Too many stats to keep track of. Either way, he is healthy and we were able to answer a resounding YES to all the milestone questions: Can he hop on one foot? speak with clear speech? count to 10? brush his teeth?...SUPER easy stuff. They postponed his immunizations till next year since he still has one more year of pre-k.

Reece also got a good report. He is 16.5 lbs and 25.5" long (gotta double check that). He is about 1 lb lighter than Z was at 6 months, but nothing wrong there. He is ready to move on to stage 2 baby foods and is saying "la-la" and "ma-ma"---Well, he is just making those sounds...he hasn't linked any word to an object or person yet.

He cannot pull himself up to sitting, but will stay upright if you put him that way. His BIG milestone this past week is that he is getting up on his knees. He seems to be getting stronger every day, so I imagine he will be vertical in no time. He can get all around by scooting on his tummy or rolling, so we'll see how much effort he will put into this knee thing and how long before he attempts a crawl. I am waiting for the morning I go to get him and he is sitting up looking at me thru the crib slats.

Anyway, got his shots and whimpered a bit, but not too much fuss and no fever or anything after.

They grow so quickly! Our mother's were not exaggerating about the race through childhood!

So good seeing you all the other night! I am not used to being a "grownup" so I of course needed a nap like Stella the next day! Hope you all had fun too! See you soon!

You're boys are so pretty. I can still say that until they are a little older, then I'll call them handsome.

Glad you guys are back to civilization finally. We got another 9" snow last night, but the road crews in Cinci are far more extensive than those in AR so we're still in business.

9 more weeks and I'll be joining you as a fam of 4! Talk soon.
