Flash Back

(DISCLAIMER: I am laughing so hard, it is quite difficult to type, so I must preempt this post with an apology for any typographical errors that follow. )

Several months ago, I recieved the chain email "Olan Mills Classics" and was shocked to see that so many families had been to the same library and colonnade I grew up near! Funny too, I SPECIFICALLY remember the photographer making the "ladies" look in the opposite direction of my dad. Makes for a very poignant image don't you think?

As we flipped through an old album, Zach wanted to know why I had a bunch of pictures of "Reece in a dress." Then, as we progressed into the beginning of my school years, I began to wonder which of my two sons I REALLY look like. I always thought the boys resembled both of us equally. I fear I may have to utter forbidden words. Yes, you know them...."I was wrong." Before I volunteer such a shocking confession, I am off to locate incriminating photographic evidence of daddy. I suppose this also serves as an official response to those of you who have asked where Reece got his blonde hair.

OMG that is too funny! You were such a cute little lady (and such a beautiful lady now!) ;-) The boys definitely look like their mama!

Oh goodness!! As your sister, I veto those pictures being posted on the internet! Ok, ok...just kidding. It definitely gave me flashbacks and a HUGE giggle. Good memory on the lady telling us girls to look a different direction. And I love your little bow and hair flip in the school picture. Chalk that one up to Mom. Was our hair EVER that straight?

chris, you were so cute as a little girl. what happened? j/k. love these old pictures. your boys are a good mix of you two, but i still think zach looks more like you and reece more like trent.

i'm still cracking up at your family portraits. that photographer certainly had a sense of style. my dad employed that same technique often when we were growing up.

oh how fun! I got that olan mills email too and it cracked me up! Isn't it so fun to go back and look at old photos and try to figure out who takes after who (I don't know if it can be an exact science, I notice everyone has their own ideas-- people on Luke's side of the family swear our kids look like their side, and family on my side say they look like our side, lol).

Our families do too. I usually just see two little individuals. Zach and Reece.

I can see you in Zach though. Reece is still little, and I haven't seen photos of your husband.

The other day someone said Winter looks like her daddy! nobody ever said that before (except me), it took me by suprise. I'm so used to the family's vying perspectives that it was interesting to get a more outside perspective from a stranger!
