One of our local outdoor stores is equipped with a 3-story indoor climbing wall. While shopping for Christmas in December of 2007, Zach saw someone climb to the top and ring the bell and all he could talk about was eating his veggies to get strong enough to ring it himself. They have kid size harnesses, so in March of last year, we let him test out his muscles. He scaled about 14 feet up and then figured out that hanging from the rope like a swing was far more entertaining. We took a trip back last week to try again. Zach did pretty good this time. Made it about 15-20 feet up before a technical overhang got the best of him. This time, I wasn't pregnant, and Zach was begging me to try. Never one to turn down a challenge, and having climbed occasionally in the mountains as a teenager, I shimmied up to the bell. Zach was too sweet, encouraging me the entire way! "WOOO! Mommy! You're doing great! WOO! Keep going!!" I do have a bit of a tom boy side once in awhile. However, there are some things I have no issue doing, and there are a few others that he will have to learn from daddy down the road.
Reece is army crawling, and his speed is quite impressive. He is just ecstatic that he is able to move forward instead
of in reverse like he has the past couple of months. He does a version of a yoga downward dog pose all the time and still rocks on his knees before resorting to the speedier elbow army crawl, so I am expecting full scale crawling any time. He is also starting to motor around in the walker (I know, I am a dangerous parent for allowing a walker, but he loves it and its supervised, so I am not too concerned).

Way to GO mommy!
I love the picture of Reece (both photography-wise and cuteness-wise). I can't believe how big he's getting!
it's so interesting to see what each child prefers for their means of travel. can't wait to see him in the act!
Such cute pics. Reece is getting so big. I love it that you climbed the wall - way to go! Way to go to Reece for crawling!
Good job on the climbing wall! It seems like there just isn't anything that you can't do! How great that you can get out there and play with the boys... they will love that. Did you take that picture of Reece? It is awesome! See you this weekend!
Aww! thanks everyone! Yes, I snapped that shot of Reece one day in our entry hall. The light was so soft on his face, I just clicked away and got a couple I liked. It looks cute in black and white too...I couldnt decide how I liked it better.
