Farewell Spring Soccer

Spring soccer made for some VERY cold and VERY rainy days! The spring program was not as fun for the kids as the fall. In the fall, they did little skills drills and then 15 min scrimmages. In the spring, based on previous year's parent feedback, they moved to a full 45 min scrimmage with no drills to teach them anything. The 45 min were quite long and most of the kids kept asking when it was over. Zach lost interest a little, and though he was ahead of the pack in kicking the ball to the goal in the fall, he really hung back and dawdled a lot this spring. The last practice was Monday.
In all, we are glad we did it. Hopefully there will be some other sports for him to test out now that he is getting a bit older. It was good for him to get out and run at the least. And I think they all look pretty cute in their little cleats and shin guards.

we're right in the middle of spring soccer here. I think fall is more fun too (better weather). That is interesting that the feedback urged them to make it harder. they did that one year here but now they've made it easier than ever. works for me, as Winter is now starting and is only 3. You're right, they do look cute in the little sports gear. I look forward to hearing what other sports Zach tries, we ONLY have soccer in our small town.

so cute! He looks so big on the field. Too bad the weather isn't better.
